Bodyguard Review

It’s wonderful time for the people of India as two of the biggest festivals clash and we get a 5 days long weekend...:D The Muslims all over the country ends the holy month of Ramadan while the Ganesha is welcomed with the same intensity and enthusiasm. The stage is all set for a big budget release yet no one dared to challenge Bodyguard-THE SALMAN KHAN STARRER*

Crowd waited patiently for the release and expected Bodyguard to be, if not less but as good as Dabangg and Wanted, Salman Khan’s last two releases at the same time of the year. Unfortunately for them, Bodyguard was disappointing. Bodyguard was mainly supposed to be an action movie, but it eventually turned out to be a sad love story which had nothing new to offer, in fact most of the scenes were lifted directly from other movies. First half was slow, second half was boring. The music, “except Teri Meri Prem Kahani”, was quite ordinary. Himesh, teaming up with Salman after a recent patch up, could not create the same magic they did with their earlier films. Even Katrina could not leave her mark, as she usually does so well, even if its just an item number. Mahesh Manjrekar, Aditya Pancholi n company had as much role as Katrina, so hardly can be said about them.

Talking about the lead performances, as we all know, Salman does not need to act, his mere presence is enough. Though I would say he was not at his very best, as compared to his performances in his earlier two films. Kareena looked beautiful, had nothing different to offer though. We have seen her like that many a times before. Siddique, the director, has got to learn a lot if he is to make big in Bollywood. The movie is strictly for die hard Salman Khan fans!
